Immerse yourself in Parisian romance with our next Plein Air concert featuring Chicago-based singer Claudia Hommel

Claudia will evoke memories of 1950s Paris with romantic French music. She will be accompanied by accordionist Patricia Spaeth and violinist Sam Hyson with a special nod to the chanson Mon coeur est un violon.

Guests will enjoy a complimentary glass of French rosé in the company of fellow Francophiles and music lovers in our jewelbox courtyard.

Doors at 6:00 pm. Concert at 6:30. Please enter via 810 N Dearborn St. Each table of (4) will receive a complimentary bottle of French rosé, sparkling water, and salted nuts. Non-alcoholic rosé is available upon request. If you wish to be seated with another guest(s), please note their names when registering. Tickets are non-refundable after Friday, June 19.

About the Musicians

Claudia Hommel, singer-actor, is co-founder of Chicago Cabaret Professionals, SongShop (an ongoing song interpretation workshop), the Chicago Paris Cabaret Connexion, and serves as executive director of the nonprofit performing arts alliance Working In Concert. Her Paris-themed shows tour to venues and schools from here to Paris! She was awarded the Médaille d’or pour les valeurs francophones by the Renaissance Française in 2024. Visit Cabaret-paree.com.

Sam Hyson has a passion for international music. A cofounder of Chicago Folklore Ensemble, he helped produce two albums of music and a book of immigrant stories. He plays violin, accordion, and other instruments, performing traditional music from the Middle East, South Asia, Latin America, Europe, and beyond. https://www.samhyson.​com/ 

Patricia Spaeth, accordionist, pianist and more, comes to Chicago via Seattle and points between. She plays an encyclopedic array of styles on accordion from Contradance to Klezmer, Finnish to French, Broadway to Swing, Tango to Ragtime. She has directed children’s theatre, composed dance tunes and original show music, and toured with an American Drama Group production in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland and Austria. She accompanies ballet classes (on piano) at the Joffrey studios.
